Visitor statistics
The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages load. Neither one sets cookies.
A page view records the page address, the referring site, an approximate location, and the device type, operating system and browser. Visitors are told apart by a hash of the incoming request that is discarded after 24 hours, so a visit is never tied to you or followed across other websites. Speed Insights records loading times with the page, the country, the connection speed and the device details. I only ever see these figures as totals.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and to protect the site from abuse, and it handles that information under its own privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
What is stored in your browser
If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it next time. It stays on your device.
The passcode-protected case studies set one cookie when you enter the passcode. It only tells the site that the study is unlocked, it is cleared as soon as the study has loaded, and it expires on its own after five minutes.
If you email me, I use your address and your message to reply to you.
Fonts and links
Fonts are served from this site itself, so loading a page sends nothing to a font service. Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Ainigma and other sites take you to services that have their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can clear or block local storage and cookies in your browser at any time. The site works without them, except that it forgets your theme, and the protected case studies need the unlock cookie to open. To ask what information I hold about you, or to have it deleted, email me.
